On the festive occasion of Christmas, learn how to make basic Vanilla sponge cake recipe from our chef Archana on Ruchkar Mejwani. This is an easy to make delicious sponge cake dessert recipe.
Ingredients:
5 Eggs
10 tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
10 tbsp All Purpose Flour
Whipped Cream
Edible Red Food Color
Christmas Tree Sugar Print
Golden Sugar Balls
Silver Sugar Balls
Method:
- Pre heat your oven on 180 degree Celsius for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl break eggs.
- Then add sugar and vanilla essence. With the help of an electric hand mixer beat the mixture for 10-15 minutes on high speed.
- Then add all purpose flour in two batches. Mix gently with a spatula.
- Grease an aluminium cake tin and align it with butter paper.
- Pour the batter in the cake tin and put it to bake on 180 degree Celsius for 25 minutes.
- Remove it from the oven and let it cool down completely.
- Separate the cake from the tin and divide it in equal half.
- Apply sugar syrup on each layer as shown in the video.
- Then apply the whipped cream and spread it evenly.
- Put the other layer and again pour some sugar syrup. Apply whipped cream and spread it evenly.
- Then stick the Christmas tree sugar print.
- Add little red food color to the remaining whipped cream. Mix gently.
- Decorate the cake with red whipped cream. Also add golden and silver sugar balls to make it look pretty.
- Delicious Vanilla Sponge Cake is ready.
